What
is Mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy
is a technique developed in France by Dr. Michael Pistor in 1952.
It is achieving amazing results in cellulite reduction
and weight loss!
Mesotherapy is a series of nearly painless injections of FDA approved
medications, vitamins and homeopathic compounds directly into
the skin to shrink unwanted fat and reduce cellulite.
How
Does Mesotherapy Work?
Mesotherapy
involves using a combination of medications that work to actually
shrink the fat cell. The biology of the fat cell membrane changes
with the treatment so that fat can no longer enter the cell, while
simultaneously triggering the release of stored fat. This leads
to a shrinking of the fat cell itself. It is then removed from
the body via the urine. For cellulite reduction, the circulation
in the area is improved and the connective tissue is strengthened,
leading to smoother, softer skin.
What
Are the Uses?
Generalized
weight loss
Mesotherapy can be applied to the abdomen, arms, hips, legs, under
the chin and buttocks. The results are measured in pounds and
inches.
A complete dietary and nutrient evaluation is essential in achieving
the optimal results from the technique.
Cellulite Reduction
Cellulite is not a condition of obesity or age. The majority of
women over the age of 20 are affected by cellulite.
It is caused by poor circulation and a weakening of the connective
tissue under the skin, as well as hormonal imbalances.
Cellulite is classified into 4 stages based on how it appears
while standing, lying down and pinching of the skin.
Mesotherapy works by increasing the circulation and strengthening
the connective tissue while dissolving excess fat. This removes
the cellulite leading to skin that is softer and smoother.
Mesolift: Face Rejuvenation
Skin can sag and become wrinkled secondary to sun damage and aging
leading to a loss of elasticity. It is also simultaneously exposed
to excessive free radical damage.
Mesotherapy can be used to rejuvenate the face by using amino
acids, hydrating solutions and antioxidants. The mixture revitalizes
the skin, making it more luminous, softer and smoother, while
also tightening the skin.
Medical Uses
Mesotherapy was initially developed to treat a variety of medical
conditions including tendonitis, and arthritis among other conditions.
The specialized solution is administered only to the affected
area, avoiding the side effects seen in medications taken by mouth.
How
Many Treatments Will I Need?
The average
patient will need 8-10 treatments, with results being seen by
the fifth to sixth treatment.
For medical indications, or for thin people with target problem
areas, fewer treatment sessions may be needed.
How
Long Does It Last?
Weight loss
and cellulite results are permanent as long as the patient continues
with an adequate diet and exercise regiment. Intermittent follow
up visits may be necessary for other indications.
What
are the typical Results?
Patients that
come in for cellulite reduction generally lose 2-3 inches where
treated. The skin is much smoother and softer.
In reference to weight reduction, patients lose 1-2 dress or pant
sizes in 10-15 sessions.
